In this class I have learned how to think more critically about "seeing the water around me." From the beginning, we have researched language topics in society, some examples being the lingo and dialect of African Americans, what we can and can't say about people with disabilities and if we are supposed to even consider disabilities disabilities, and of course homosexual lingo and dialect. There are many other topics that I could list, but there would be no end to this little summary paragraph if I did. We were asked to record, analyze, describe, and prescribe language communities for the Language Analysis assignments, and for the Final Project; the Final Project being a little more unique because we had to study a group that we were not ourselves a part of.

I am grateful for the opportunity that I had to take this class. It was always interesting; there was so much to learn! Overall this class has given me a learning experience like no other. I can honestly say that I have walked away from class "thoroughly confused"... Thanks Tiffany!
